My ship "Matthew"

This ship was named after my wife,"Mattea" which made me name my ship"Matthew".1497, May 2, I went on my ship, the Matthew to prepare to go for a long and prosperous journy, to explore the lands across the Atlantic, hoping to find a sea route, a north west passage to the Indies and China that was faster then the original route. We sailed for 50 days We landed without knowing that we were in North America.

first voage

My first voyage i sailed away from Bristol on my trusty ship Mathew on may 2, 1487. When i first landed my ship on the New world i thought i found a sucessful route to asia, but now we know this is false and i landed somewhere in North america. I claimed this land for King Henry VII and i am one of the first European explorers to ever set foot on North America

Search for the northwest passage

In 1483 I beilived that Asia could be reached by sailing west, because the known journy would take to long. After a long and persuasive conversation with King Henry VII, he soon sponsered my trip. After years later in 1493 news of my journy to a New world.
THis was the ship i sailed in, i went through many places with this
